Standing on the Millennium Bridge over the Thames

After years of consulting, organizing, reading, programming, loving, losing, and a bit of knitting, I decided to try parenting and getting that long overdue ADHD diagnosis. Here I try to share a few lessons learned or at least humorous anecdotes in preparation for having kids in elementary school.

Professional Life

I currently am a Systems Engineer at Getty Images. I have worked in technology operations and software development for companies like Moz, DataDog, WhitePages, Siemens Business Services, and Washington Mutual.

In 2009, I started a consultancy to help companies automate infrastructure, increase application performance, and bring an experimental mindset to adding value.

A long-time supporter of open-source solutions, I have presented at user groups across the country and co-founded the Seattle DevOps interest group.

Personal Life

My wife, my kids, and my cats put up with my shenanigans in our house in Lynnwood, Washington. I have worked from home since the beginning of the pandemic so I get to see my kids every day.

A picture of my cats. Benny in the foreground is a tabby. Tribble in the background lying in what used to be a sunbeam, is a Persian with a semi-recent shave.
